11th United Nations Association Film Festival - October 19th-26th

San Francisco - Palo Alto - East Palo Alto - Stanford

Founded in 1998 by Jasmina Bojic, film critic and educator, United Nations Association Film Festival is an international documentary film festival originally established as a collaborative project between the UNA Mid Peninsula chapter and the Stanford Film Society in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

United Nations Association Film Festival screens documentaries dealing with topics such as human rights, environment, women's issues, children, famine, racism, universal education, war and peace. UNAFF offers a unique opportunity for creative exchange and education among groups and individuals often separated by geography, ethnicity and economic constraints.

11th UNAFF program includes 41 documentaries from 41 countries which will be presented at Stanford University from October 19-26, with screenings in Palo Alto on October 19, San Francisco on October 20 and East Palo Alto on October 21. The jury selected films dealing with topics from Afghanistan, Argentina, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Congo, Croatia, Ecuador, Egypt, Kenya, Kosovo, France, Germany, India, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Liberia, Mexico, Namibia, Netherlands, North Korea, Norway, Pakistan, Palestine, Peru, Russia, Rwanda, Serbia, Somalia, South Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Switzerland, the UK, the US and Vietnam.

Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the 11th annual United Nations Association Film Festival has chosen the theme BLUE PLANET, GREEN PLANET to reflect the myriad of problems we encounter living on our ‘Blue Planet” and to seek awareness and solutions - through film - to better our lives and become a “Green Planet”.
