41st Humboldt Film Festival
The Humboldt Film Festival celebrates independent, student and international films that test cinematic boundaries. We look for films that use innovative new ways to explore the medium as a form of artistic expression. We have awards in Narrative, Documentary, and Animation as well as Experimental, and we encourage the incorporation of experimental approaches in all four genres. Aside from our “Best Of…” awards (for each category) we also give awards for: beautiful use of film, surrealism, social awareness, immigrant stories, experimental documentaries, dismantling systems of oppression, and more. The Humboldt Festival is a nonprofit organization that exists to promote excellent independent and student films and to encourage the production of exceptional films.
