American Conservation Film Festival  



The American Conservation Film Festival presents entertaining films with a wide range of issues that often focus on the relationships between people and the environment. Some stories chronicle unique cultural around the world, others follow dedicated people saving their communities or vulnerable wildlife, and others bring to life some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes. The three-day event held in Shepherdstown, WV, in cooperation with the National Conservation Training Center and the US Fish and Wildlife Service, presents local and national feature length and short films for audiences of all ages, and includes thought-provoking dialogue, a meet-the-filmmaker receptions, children’s films, a student filmmaker forum and competition, and information sessions from a variety of environmental groups. Highlights include audience discussion with filmmakers, producers, and experts on the film’s topics. Audiences have the opportunity to be more than passive viewers – they will leave inspired, surprised, motivated, entertained, and transformed. Festival 2008 will be held Nov. 6-9 with a film submission deadline of July 11, 2008.
