The 2nd Cypriot Film Festival
As Peter Polycarpou, celebrated Greek Cypriot actor commented last year, 'The 1st Cypriot Film Festival was a wonderful evening that brought both sides of the Turkish and Greek Cypriot community together through moving image and the arts'.
After a sold out festival last year, The 2nd Cypriot Film Festival is back again at The Phoenix Cinema, in East Finchley on Sunday the 16th of December 2007, from 1.30 until 6.30pm, showcasing a selection of award winning Cypriot short films followed by the UK Premier of the first ever Cypriot feature film to be screened at the Venice Film Festival, Akamas. We are also delighted to welcome the director of the film, Panicos Chrysanthou who will be opening the festival.
The short films screening are:
Coat Fitting by Elias Demtriou
Monday Freakin Morning – Plan X by Eric Averkiou
The Dancing Chef by Vicki Psarias
Anticlockwise by Dimitris Bavellas

We are proud to screen award winning films from our talented community:
Short Film 'Broken' has recently won the Channel 4 4Talent Award for Best Filmmaker for Vicki Psarias, whose short documentary about her father, George Psarias titled 'The Dancing Chef' will have it's UK premier at the festival.
Alex Kalymnios whose bewitching short film 'Green Fairy' and music video 'City of Angels' will be screened, directs award winning soap, 'Hollyoaks'.
'Indigo', a BBC film network favourite, is a dazzling animation film by Kimon Christodoulides who is making waves not only in his work but also in the industry.
'Greek Meatballs' by Orthodoxos Theodoulou has had thousands of hits on You Tube becoming a Cypriot comedy classic and was also mentioned in The Times. Catch it here! 'Black Ink' is a trailer for Mumtaz Yildirimlar's debut feature film, coming soon!
