Since its inception five years ago, The European Independent Film Festival (ÉCU) has become the premier arena in Europe for independent filmmakers to screen their films to large international audiences, to network with producers, talent scouts, agents and distributors as well as exchange ideas with other indie filmmakers.

Films in 13 different categories will compete for 22 awards including the prestigious title of “Europe’s Best Independent Film”.

But it is NOT just a weekend! After the Paris event in March 2010, a selection of the ÉCU award winning films will be presented at our partner festivals throughout Europe.

**MUCH MORE THAN A SCRIPT COMPETITION **

ÉCU is pleased to be hosting its third Much More than a Script Competition. As part of the ÉCU 2010 film festival, the script competition’s focus is on independent screenplays, that is, scripts that aren’t aimed at mainstream Hollywood film markets. Writers are invited to submit their short or feature-length scripts at http://www.ecufilmfestival.com/en/script-competition/

**THE PERFECT PITCH**

Because The Perfect Pitch’s debut at ÉCU 2009 went so well, we’ve decided to bring it back in 2010!

The Perfect Pitch is series of workshops and practice pitch sessions aimed at assisting filmmakers in fine-tuning their presentations to producers, distributors and financiers. These workshops and practice pitch sessions take place on the opening day of the festival in Paris, France.

On the final day of the festival all Perfect Pitch participants have the opportunity to pitch to a live panel of industry professionals. We don’t guarantee a deal, but we do guarantee a solid amount of face time to get the ball rolling.
