Third World Newsreel
Third World Newsreel (TWN) is an organization committed to the creation and appreciation of independent and social issue media by and about people of color, and the peoples of developing countries around the world. To support the work of independent filmmakers, TWN offers four main services: distribution, stock footage licensing, training and fiscal sponsorship. As a media distributor, TWN represents over 200 filmmakers and 450 independent films in the non-theatrical and broadcasting markets. We also represent the Newsreel stock footage library, which chronicles the anti-Vietnam War, Black and Latino power and women's movements of the late 60s and early 70s. TWN also has a variety of workshops and classes throughout the year, including the Advanced Film & Video Production Workshop. Finally, TWN serves as fiscal sponsor of independent media productions, as well as artistic, educational and cultural projects.
