Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF)
Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF)

The Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF) is a 10-day long public film festival that runs on the ONESTOP network of LCD screens situated above the subway platforms inside the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).

The festival runs September 11 - 20, 2009, concurrent with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), and has an audience of over 1.6 million commuters.

Films are silent, 1-minute in length and selected by a panel of filmmakers, academics and programmers with the top 3 films chosen by guest jude, Don McKellar (Where The Truth Lies, Slings and Arrows, Blindness).

TUFF is based on an open call for participation from both trained professional and untrained amateur filmmakers. Filmmakers are asked to submit to one of 7 urban-themes: Urban Diversity; Urban Encounters; Urban Ideas; Urban Imaginary; Urban Journeys; Urban Natural; and Urban Secrets.
