Veritas Films is a UAE based company that specializes in the creation and production of non-fiction content including corporate films, feature length documentaries, TV programming, and virals. Latin for “Truth,” Veritas excels in the celebration of realities, both cultural and corporate, through compelling programs of rare depth and allure.
The creation of Veritas Films came in response to the dearth of production units that can both supply expert knowledge of the documentary form and source highly specialized talent. Veritas is a one-stop shop with the capability to supply creative concepts and media consulting, as well as director and production services. This enables our clients to experience a more holistic approach to making films by eliminating the need for multiple intermediaries. Veritas is equally the first company with its own development department, capable of researching and analyzing corporate profiles as a basis for developing content-accurate treatments of high creative value. Coupled with cinematic production standards, our films transcend the mundane commercial format to become highly effective marketing tools that empower overall marketing strategies.
Aside from our commercial pursuits, Veritas continues to be actively involved in the cultural life of the UAE. One of our passions is to tell the stories from Dubai’s neighborhoods and communities; this has inspired our concept for a documentary TV series entitled “My Neighborhood,” as well as our acclaimed project “Satwa Stories” which documented the gems of Satwa before its impending demolition. We also curate the wildly popular “Mahmovies!” – a bi-annual, standing room only series of art house film screenings that brings together filmmakers, artists and film fans for screenings, performances and discussion.
The company’s founder and managing director, Mahmoud Kaabour, is an award-winning documentary filmmaker with numerous credits in conceptualizing and directing films for The Ministry of Presidential Affairs, The Executive Affairs Authority (Abu Dhabi), Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, Dubai Investments, and Dubai Holding subsidiaries. He is also the filmmaker behind the multi-award winning documentary "Being Osama," as well as a media consultant and lecturer for clients like Starcom Worldwide and Al-Jazeera.
