The 17th annual Woods Hole Film Festival ignites on July 26, with the opening night screening of "Sizzle: A Global Warming Comedy," a unique combination of mockumentary, documentary and reality that premieres at the LA Outfest a week earlier on July 19. The selection foreshadows the large number of environmentally-themed films that fill out this year's festival, as well as several panels featuring some of the world's most renowned environmental experts, including "New York Times'" environmental writer, Andy Revkin. Of particular interest to Bostonians is "Rooters: The Birth of Red Sox Nation," about the first baseball fan club, formed in the late 19th century and led by JFK's grandfather (the majority of films at the festival are also by New England filmmakers) and "Twelve," a film shot by 12 Boston area directors in and around, each responsible for a different film shot in a different month of the year. And in a departure from past years, there will be three filmmakers-in-residence, who will lead a number of master classes and panels.
